Don't feel lonely, you are not the only one that cannot simply shut off your brain and 'believe.' There are a growing number of people who are simply not interested in believing what they are told simply because the one doing the telling tells them so.

You are lucky enough to have a brain and to use it as your guide through life rather some out dated points of view written thousands of years ago by people who you probably wouldn't allow into your house today.

Becomming more spiritual might help but for the most part just enjoy life for the sake of it.

You can't become religious because you meet too many religious people who should be learning from you; they believe in their religion, whereas you believe in God. Advanced souls know that the Creator of the Universe is not necessarily the old guy with a flowing beard, sitting on a cloud above the Earth and reading from a holy book (the prescribed one only). Rose under any name smells the same--Goodness is good in any language, and jealousy, hate and senseless killings are not godly but human attributes, regardless who is the teacher and how holy is his book. Thank you for asking such a valid question.

If you're honest and caring, that's all that matters. You don't need a religion to have those qualities; it sounds like you're already proving that yourself. I mean, whether you believe in God or not, you kind of have to assume that if he does exist, that he would care more about the positive qualities that you display in your life than your choice of religion. Can you imagine God focusing more on the fact that you weren't Christian than the fact that you were a good overall human being? I don't know about anyone else, but I definitely can't imagine that. It sounds like you're doing just fine.

If you're looking for a religion, then I would recommend that you just look around for a while and do some research, and read up on various faiths, and see if you find one that appeals to you for whatever reason. But even if you decide to stay nonreligious, that's also fine. Again, I'm not sure if I'm in the minority here or not, but I personally don't think that that decision is what really counts.

I think you should keep searching. Honestly decide what you believe independent of a church, and then find a church which is close to your beliefs.
I don't think God condems those who are honestly seeking. And doing good. That certainly doesn't make you a devil. I think it would make God a liar if he called you a devil when you do your best to be good. Some people are very rash and not open in their judgement. It is God's place to decide.
One thing I would do: Pray. It is amazing the answers that come during prayer. I think it will help you to know your standing with God, and who knows, it may lead you to a church that is right for you. So many people expect you to believe them and trust their answers, not God himself. I think God will help you to recognize the truth. Trust him, not them. Give time in your prayer for your thoughts to formulate. Pause and listen. Be honest with yourself and how you truely feel. If you feel you are doing the right thing, don't let what others think cause you to question it! And keep it up. Keep searching. You'll find what you're looking for sometime.

Your husband must be a _____. (Okay, I won't say it.) No, really, he has a very narrow minded view of things. Just continue to help people and stay on the path you are on ... continue to search for answers, but don't beat yourself up if the answers don't come quickly. If you are sincerely seeking God, you will find a faith and belief system you can embrace. Try to study different faiths and see which one sits right with you. It comes sooner for some than for others, but it eventually comes to all. Don't stress about it.

Maybe it isn't God that you are having a hard time with . It just may be organized religion . Many people have a hard time with the extended rules that organized religion demands you adhere to . I believe in God and the Bible, but I do not agree with the man made rules of the Catholic faith .
I have found a happy medium with Wicca . I can pry to God and strive for harmony with nature and no one can tell me how I worship is wrong .
Find what works for you and makes you fell good about yourself.

you can be what every you like. Have one or not does not mean the Devil is in you. The Devil is Christian faith based only. If you are not Christian the Devil has no call to come near you.
Now you can look in to any other faith{spirt or what ever you like} or you can be nothing. There is no sin in that. Regardless of what others tell you. You don't have to listen to anyone that wants to judge you. That's not their job and they know it.

With all that said
Good luck hon and don't worry about what others say its your life not theirs.. you will be OK

Blessed Be

That was very mean of your husband to say something like that to you (or anyone). Just take the whole question to God. Keep asking Him. You heard about "knock and the door shall be opened"? Well, many many of us have had to knock and knock and knock on some wrong doors too before finally receiving the "come in" from God. I know... I knocked for years before I had an encounter with God -chnaged my entire life, as you can well imagine.

Please don't do it, Being religious is making a worst decision of your life time. Keep helping others and be positive. Believe in you. Don't believe GOD forever - bcoz. There is no proof of existence of god. According to me the real result of our life is based on our activities and our hard work. Neither the blessing nor our prayer helps in any sort of situations. Believe in you and you can win.

Many people ask that can anybody disprove the existence of god.

It is not necessary to prove anything which is not existed.

The only proof for the non existence of god:

for billions & billions of years no one has ever proved that he/she had seen the god, touched it or heard anything from it.

they can only argue with the examples that you cannot see the wind, you cannot touch the sun etc.. But no real facts is available for their arguement.

Those who believe in god is a fool,
Those who campaign for god is a criminal.

Your husband is an idiot sweetie. There is no devil. Man made up hell and sin to control the masses.

You are wise to follow your heart and your head. Some people just cannot accept idiotic religious dogma but still love God. I am one of those people.

I suggest you find out more about Buddhism or Agnosticism. You hold your intelligent head up!
