MUSLIMS VIEW JESUS AS ONE OF THE PROPHETS.THEY REGARD MOHAMMAD AS THE LAST PROPHET.

2007-01-29 02:39:36 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

Both of them are the prophets of Almighty Allah. Jesus came to the jews, or the lost sheep of israel because they were misguided. Jesus brought the bible or the Injeel (Muslims believe that the present bible is pretty much distorted. also this has been proved by historians) Jesus also prophesized the coming of Mohammad.

Mohammad is the last prophet sent by Almighty to the world. It is believed that the previous prophets were sent down for a specific people and for a specific time ONLY. Mohammad is a prophet whose teachings r for the whole world and for eternity. Mohammad came as a mercy. To him was revealed the Quran which has not been distorted (historical proof) and will not bbe ever distorted because Almighty promised them so.

Mohammad is more important because his teachings are eternal. Jesus was also an important prophet but his teachings are for older times. the Quran is the newer version of the bible with the same basic teachings.

It should be noted that Islam is the ONLY reliegion in which u have to respect Jesus to be a good believer

Muslims have, mainly, 25 prophets. Prophets are people who teach human beings about God. The first prohet is Adam, the first man. Mosses, Jesus, Abraham etc are some of the other prophets. All these prohets including Jesus are beleved to have preached the words of God. And in the list came Mohammed as the last. It was through him, God send Holy Quran to earth. Quran is one of the four Holy scriptures of Muslims and the most important among them. When Muslims here the name of any of these prophet, they are supposed to utter 'Sallallahu alaihe Wasallam' , meaning something like God's prophet. Being the last prohet and the person Muslim believes to be followed as an ideal man, Mohammed has more recognition in Islam. I think, the major difference between Islam and Christialnity is that, Muslims treat Jesus as Prophet and not God.

All Muslims respect Jesus son of Mary (PBUH). The Koran states that he was a prophet sent by God and that his mother was a pious and chaste woman. However, the Koran strictly denies the divinity of Jesus; calling it infidelity. God told us that are infidels those who believe in the trinity; for their is only one God.

As for why Muhammad (PBUH) is preferred over Jesus, well this is because we (Muslims) believe him to be the commander of all the prophets (PBUT); including Jesus (PBUH). Muhammad (PBUH) is the last of all the prophets too, and his message (Islam) is the final message sent by God. His teachings are final and so are the laws that he came with. Islam is far more practical than Christianity, and the Koran was not altered; unlike the altered Bible.

Funny how some non-Muslims intruded in this discussion forum and volunteered to answer; as if they were asked to do that!!!

Muslims view Jesus, Moses and twenty three more persons (peace be upon all of them) whose names are known to us as Messengers from the Almighty God. There are quite a lot of more messengers spread across the world but we dont have the knowledge of the history of those messengers. All the messengers are given their due respect by all muslims. It is a duty on them to do so. To justify this answer pls read this.
Man is a creation of the Almighty God in this mortal world among billions of creatures. Man is created with his 6th sense using which he can think and act. Animals cant even count 1 or 2 or 10. Thinking is a big power given to man in this life. When you are walking in a road you always have the choice to turn right or left or go straight. Like wise in every moment of man's life, he has choice to do good or bad. Using his 6th sense he can think and choose. The All-Merciful God has not left man on his own. God has taken the responsibility to show the man the Right Path thru His Messengers & his Holy Guidance through out the human history. It would have been illogical if God has choosen sun or moon or anything else apart from man as Messenger. This messenger, a Man with only special feature of the ability to receive God's Guidance directly, did the duty of conveying the message "how to live in this world". AT the same time God has given man the free-will to choose between right & wrong. All men will die one day. A day will come when man's actions will be judged based on the Truth.
Muhammed (peace be upon him) was the last messenger with the Guidance given as Quran. Muslims believe that this Quran is from God, means Flawless. To prove the negative of this you have to go through it verse by verse, understand its context, then start asking questions about the authenticity claim.

Jesus(pbuh) was human,n a blessed messenger of Allah(God)
same as Muhammad(pbuh) is the last messenger of Allah.
both are equally important,n respectable for us....from Adam to Muhammad(pbut) all are respectable prophets sent from God,for ou betterment...n we can never ever think of disrespecting any of them...
way we support muhammad(pbuh) when others argue over him,as a prophet....same way we support Jesus(pbuh).

Jesus (peace be upon him) is one of God's prophets, we respect him and his mother Mary (peace upon her). And we believe that Jesus was not killed, God has saved him and he will come back at the end of time. you have to believe in all God's prophets to become a believer.

Mohammad (peace be upon him) is the last prophet, and he has suffered so much to deliver the message of God to us, as all the previous prophets has suffered.

I don't think there is a prophet who is more important but we as Muslims love Muhammad because he was the greatest man and he taught us how to be good loving people (not terrorists as a lot of people say). you can also read more about his life :)

For Muslims, Jesus is just one of the prophets

Mohammad is more special
He is the last Prophet and the one sent by God to correct errors in Jewish and Christians teaching
