Depends on how "cute" you want to go and what cute is to you.
There are really nice "cute" names like Alyssa, Kayleigh, Mikayla (or in my cousins exception: Mikaya - no l), Natalie, LeAnne, Annie, Brianna, and so on.
If you want a full name that can be shortened, you can go with names that traditionally might sound a little "stodgy" like Dorothy (Dot, Dottie) or Margaret (Maggie, Mags, Marge - not so cute) or Andrea (Andie, Drea, or Dre). There's also Catherine (Cathy, Caty, Cat) or Michelle (Shelly, Shell, Micha).
My daughter's name is Cassandra. She's gone by Cass or Cassie for most of her life, but she can also go by Sandra or Sandy if she so chooses.
The thing is, when picking a name, find something that not only is pleasing to hear (since you'll be saying it a lot!) but means something to you. The significance of a name is something your child will carry with him or her always, so be sure it's something you want them to associate with. For example, Cassandra, while a very beautiful name with plenty of opportunities to be shortened, was the name of a Greek prophetess of doom. Of course, my daughter has so far not shown her prophesy skills, but she is a very insightful child with a penchant towards the dramatic! (Go figure!)
Good luck in finding a name! Hope this helped.
