Could any one provide me with some websites that could help me planning my trip to Brazil?

It all depends on what you like doing. Rio definitely tugged at our imaginations and we had a ball there. Iguazu Falls are spectacular. If you like adventure consider venturing into the Amazon or exploring a bit of the Pantanal. Here's our page on Brazil: http://www.mousetourstravels.com/brazil.html
Here are our thoughts on how to plan a trip: http://www.mousetourstravels.com/custom-tour.html and http://www.mousetourstravels.com/custom-tour-planning-list.html

Happy travels... even if you don't travel the world... just remember that life is a journey... embrace and enjoy it! http://www.mousetourstravels.com

Rio de Janeiro is certainly a must (often considered as the most beautiful city in the world). São Paulo really is not my favorite, too busy, polluted and not too much different from any big city in the world.
Very impressing are the world biggest waterfalls in Foz do Iguaçu (at the three borders point Brazil Argentina and Paraguay) including the Itaipu hydroelectric.
If you like nature and jungle, don't miss Manaus (Amazon) or Cuiabá (with a trip to the Pantanal at the Bolivian border).
For cultural tourism I would recommend the state of Minas Gerais, with the old Gold Digger and Diamont cities like Diamantina, Ouro Preto or Tiradentes, or the interior of the state of Sta Catarina (Blumenau eg, and other cities in the old German style)
For beach tourism try Angra dos Reis between Rio and São Paulo or the Northeast (Salvador, Fortaleza, Recife). In the Northeast you have quite a good weather garantee (if it isn't getting too hot for you), the southeast (like the beaches near Florianópolis) you have to check the climatical conditions for the period you want to go.
The southern states are more coming closer to what an American or European would be used to at home. For me, the real Brazil (some Brasilians would want to kill me now ;) starts above (north) the States of Minas or Espirito Santo.
For Hotels you'll find tons of sites just by googleing. Here only one: http://www.brazils-hotels.com/
But reservations over the net are more expensive. I recommend you to buy the local Brasil guide "guia 4 rodas". Except during special events in Rio de Janeiro there should be no problem finding Hotels without reservation.
Enjoy your trip.

Hi
The best place without a doubt is Rio de Janeiro.Sao Paula is a great place as well.As a travel agent I highly suggest to you please go and visit your local travel agent because "Without a travel agent you are on your own",also try to stay away from cheap websites offering travel.if you feel adventures buy your international ticket from your travel agent but purchase your hotel on-line because you can easily get a good price.make sure you ALWAYS have travel insurance to south America and ALWAYS get hotel transfers even if you have to pay for it extra.
Good Luck,I hope this helps.
