I just saw a very convincing commercial Jessica Simpson did for Proactive solution.

It could be food allergies. Some say there is no conclusive evidence that allergies can be manifested as acne but I disagree. I recently had a lot of acne and I was consuming a lot of soy. When I stopped eating and drinking things with soy in them my face cleared up within a week an a half. Make an apt. with an allergist and have a skin test done.
Another thing I think works GREAT is the face wash and moisturiser sold by a company called "philosophy" the face wash is called purity made simple and the moisturiser is called hope in a bottle...it is formulated for acne. It's the best think I have ever used, and I've used almost everything.

Go see a dermatologist. I know a lot of people have a problem with that -- I did too. I felt I was being foolish and vain to want to go to a dermatologist, and that he'd probably tell me to lose weight and stop eating chocolate.
But, my daughter had some skin problems, so since I was visiting the dermatologist for her, I took the plunge and set up an appointment for myself. My doctor was very kind and listened to me, and looked at my pimples. He prescribed some medicine that worked wonders, and put me on a course of antibiotics (I'd had a course of antibiotics for my acne in college, but it didn't work and gave me yeast problems -- but this time, it worked!). He didn't lecture me, or ever make me feel stupid or vain.
So, go to the doctor and see if there is some bacteria or other pathogen at work. If that doesn't help, get a second opinion.
Of course, having a diet full of nutritious foods is very important, and so is exercise, cleanliness and lots of liquids. Good luck!

Check with your doctor for treatment of your skin problem. One day I thought I was bitten by a spider because I had something on my leg that looked like a boil. I went to the doctor and found that I had a staph infection. They had to surgically remove the boil with a scapel and boy did it hurt. If you scratch other areas of your body, you will get the other places infected too. Always use Purell Sanitizing cleaner on your hands after you scratch the infected areas.
I bought this solution called Hibicleanse in a blue bottle. My doctor told me to buy that stuff.
Try it and see if it works.

ok, it depends different acne face wash and what not will not help because it could be somethig different than acne, and your skin type could suffer, for me proactive burned my skin, but i use clearasil scrub and it has been working for me so its not expensive (thankfully). it could be the way you eat as well so dont eat to many nuts and oily stuff. But your best solution is going to a dermatologist, you wont go wrong with them i know because my mom had very bad acne and nothing would help her and she stared to use this cream and face wash that is prescription and now her face is clear, is really amazing. anyways yeah... hope that helps go to a dermatologist.
good luck!

Don't listen to that Proactive bullshit, that is for VERY mild cases, and they probably had to induce a pimple on Jessica Simpson.
I had terrible acne, so bad they wanted to document it. I went to the dermatologist, and they put me on Accutane. It cleared up in 20 weeks, and I've been pimple free for 22 years now. It will change your life.

So sorry for you. Many good answers, though. It might be a bit helpful also to change your pillowcase every night, and eliminate fatty foods and chocolate from your diet. Best of luck finding the right combination of treatments.
