I'm not sure of the exact wording (or if it's confirmed) but Winston Churchill is sometimes quoted as saying something like, "I am always willing to learn, but do not always enjoy being taught."
My dad has taught college students for over 35 years and starts every course with the caution, "I don't know anything about teaching, but I know an awful lot about learning." He also told me, "Never let school get in the way of your education."
Hope that helps.

Good teachers are the foundation of a good society. But you must also look inside yourself for inspiration.
When you meet those rare and generous people who want to teach and inspire as well as just do their jobs; take full advantage.
Show you can make a difference, not simple which you have a relevant academic record. Show that you can write, you can take responsibility, or that you can create something new.
Find something you are passionate about. Immerse yourself in it. Become an expert in at least one area of this subject and then talk about it to everyone
Value every student, teach them to value others and always remember that you have the capacity to touch souls and shape lives.
