I specifically would like to here from Christians. I was at planned parenthood the other day for a vasectomy. I saw people who obviously had an abortion and I want to know why would you want to yell at them and make them fell even worse. Is this what Jesus would do? Is it? Or, would he lobby congress to change the law so people couldn't use abortion as a means of birth control. Obviously if a women has been raped she should be able to choose if she wants to carry the child to full term or have the forced pregnancy termenated. Also, women should not use abortions as a means of birth control. PLEASE LEAVE OUT THE PERSONAL ATTACKS and tell me how these protest are christ like.

I've found that many people protesting the Planned Parenthood orginization don't realize that they do more than just give abortions. I've actually been to websites against Planned Parenthood that speak of them like it's the only thing they do. In reality, The vast majority of people visiting Planned Parenthood are there for birth control, which even married couples need (not just 'loose moraled teens'), and which they can get for much cheaper than is available through their insurance (or lack thereof). I think the protests are more a result of a misunderstanding snowballing. The Planned Parenthood branch I visit doesn't even give abortions, but it hasn't stopped people from protesting the place.

Also, for all those people out there that think women are using abortions as birth control: bear in mind an abortion is expensive, even through Planned Parenthood, and is a very uncomfortable procedure. I'm sure the majority of women would rather take a pill every day than get an abortion. If they only were more aware of how easy it is to get pregnant. Most women unfortunately feel like it can't happen to them. That's why we need better education rather than angry protests.

I don't agree with people stating thate there are few women who have abortions. That is not true. There are plenty of women who have abortions.
I don't agree and I never will agree with abortions. This means killing a human being. It means murder, even if it is smaller or older than one month.
In this day and age there are so many contraceptive methods. They even give free birth controll pills and condomns. So why don't people use them. they just prefer not to. This is not prohibited by the church, only by its fundamentalists.
As for rape, of course that a woman wouldn't like to keep that child. But if I were raped I would go the next day to the doctors and take those second days pills and be all right. I wouldn't under any circumstance have an abortion. And Christ would condemn such a deed. But not regular birth control

It is an old debate...

I agree that a woman should retain control on her body and that medical emergencies or rape - are definitely reasons to decide one does not want to carry a child.

Also, it is a heavy decision to take, and no sane woman would decide to use it as birth control!!! the only words make me shiver, who would be THAT stupid? it may be used if birth control fails, and the psychological and physical consequences are then to be borne and lived with...

I've often wondered why the whole world - in particular the masculine part - is so adamant in dictating women how to deal with their uterus. Giving birth is a great priviledge, and it implies a responsability toward ourselves and the next generation - we should educate and ensure women are responsible and capable of choice, rather than forbid pain killers for birthing or limit abortion. We should support, explain openly both birth control options and options at the moment of choosing abortion: talk about adoption, talk about carrying the baby and what help society has to offer (currently, very little to none... that too should change). You cannot tell people "carry that baby and be hungry"!!! As long as maternity is not protected, it will remain a problem.

Christ like? all this has nothing with compassion. This has to do with controlling others, and telling others (women) how to live their life. Funny how many men are so adamant on abortion... :)))

as a christian i tend to have an ironclad view upon personal values concerning abortion. but, it is such a gray area issue that the harsh reality is that every person is going to have to base their view on their reality. i am not a parent, so i cannot have a truely subjective view on the matter. im pretty sure their is no way i could ever let somebody that i got pregnant have an abortion. i've screwed up and had some close calls, when the situation arose, abortion never crossed my mind. i agree. i think abortions are abused for those who do not want to deal with the consequences of their choices. but like i said, i am firmly against it, but it is too strong a matter, and it must be dealt with on an individual basis. all the people i know that have had abortions do regret it.

Well since no one yet has comprehended your question, I will start: First off your are talking about Religion and Politics.
On the political side, I think if a person is protesting for a person not to go into the abortion clinic, then that protester should at that time allow that person to bring to term a baby and then give to the protester to raise. & if that protester isn't willing to do that than they need to shut up and go home.
They have no right to stop another person from doing anything let alone have a hand in the decision making process of your own body???

Religiously- It is a story that has been made up to control people to pursuade people to allow people who otherwise bright good people to go seriously bad. Religion has killed more people than any and all political conflicts put together, it is a person that we can't see unless we are Mexican (as I) and i see His "mom" in tortillas? We were brought up to believe this BS and go sit in a golden church and pray blahblah yeah right.

it is hard for people to believe in the Darwin Theory yet all jump on the bandwagon for a made up place in lalala land where everything is beautiful for all eternity just as long as thou shalt not use the lord's name in vain? ...

They are not behaving Christ-like. They are wrong. They are focused on the sins of others instead of working on themselves. But here is the thing, no one is perfect, especially not Christians. We are all a work in progress. And I think all of us have acted like idiots or been cruel or let the emotion of the moment cloud our judgement. In their eyes they are the voice of the unborn, and they begin with good intentions, they just get lost. They forget the point. I hope they can eventually step back and see they are doing more harm than good. I hope they can come up with better solutions. Until then, all I can do is apologize for them and say please know we are not all like that.

No, it's not Christ like. No woman *wants* to have an abortion, and few use it as birth control--that would be like preferring a root canal to daily brushing. But some people persist in believing the worst of women who are already having one of the worst days of their lives, and of the doctors who are only trying to help them. It saddens me.

The Bible clearly shows that God approves of abortion, and in many cases commands it:

The Bible approves of killing pregnant women: Genesis 38:24, Numbers 31:17

The Bible approves of abortion: 2 Kings 15:16

God approves of abortion: Hosea 13:15-16

People are not counted as persons until they are a month old: Numbers 3:15

The Bible contains directions on how to abort any pregnancy caused by adultery: Numbers 5:12-31

The Bible says that being aborted is better than living a bad life: Ecclesiastes 6:3-5, Matthew 26:24

The Bible says that a person becomes a living soul when he BREATHES the BREATH of life into his nostril (fetuses don't breathe): Genesis 2:7

i am not a christian i am a muslim but my simple opinion about this matter is if society shunned people who do acts of sin then there would be a moral responce in not to engage in behavior that might land you into planned parenthood until you are married. i think that it is a waste of time to ask a person who is religious why they protest anything that goes against their religion. the answer is obvious they do not believe itt is morally right .

Abortion is murder, and planned parenthood makes a tidy sum from committing those murders, and abusing hundreds of thousands of women, at the very same time.

Anyone, Christian or not, who stands by and allows the murder of innocents to happen without protesting, is both a coward and a fool.

As for your big "V" ... looks like they got you to voluntarily give up your power of procreation, too, and now your cash will be used to allow them continue their abominable work.

Pity.
