I do not know how to do that but I have tried all I might through meditation but to no avail. Then one night I have dreamed that I got up and tried to opened the door but I could not open it, i tried so hard but to no avail, then at the corner of my astral eye I saw myself lying there in my bed and woke up.

As far as I know you have to be able to get to the delta-phase of sleep or meditation, and be able to consciously control it, but subconsciously. It's very hard to explain, but if you understand the things that you see with your mind's eye as real and there, then you can astral project.
First off, astral projection is VERY difficult to master if you're not an innate witch. (Pagan, politically correct) it's when the spirit/ soul leaves the body to go between the planes of existence and dimensions of the spiritual world. This is the place where most or all of your questions can be answered by either of the Gods or Goddesses whom you communicate with.
It's also a very awesome thing to do when you want to know about past lives.

I've done a lot of research on this subject. I know many people who claim to be able to do it, including a good friend of mine. To be honest I don't really know what to think of it yet.
