Even though I have never used the stuff personally, I have never heard any reports of being bad. I have heard only good things with it.
You do need to keep your dog hydrated with fluids also. dehydration is the main killer of pups with parvo.
How do you know it is parvo? Is the dog got the bloody stinky diarreah, and vomitting with no appetite and lack of drinking with lethargy?
Worms will also cause a dog to do this also. but with worms, the dog will lie in the water dish, but not drink, with parvo they stay completely away, this is about the only differancce between the two.\
Just remember parvo is the number one killer of puppies and dogs that have not been vaccinated. Parvoguard is good from what i hear, but to be sure it is parvo i would recommend going to the vet for diagnosis.

Puppies are more frequently affected by Parvo then adults. Is the mother up to date on her shots? Is she displaying any parvo signs? It's recommended that breeding "females" are to have their shots again prior to being bred, this ensures a great start to immunity for the puppies. If thats the case, I would have the female looked over by a vet and if she's clear of the disease, chances are that the pups are too. I would also suggest find another place to house momma and the pups until enough time has passed. Parvo is passed from dog to dog through stools as well. Make sure that the yard is clean from that. Some signs to look out for are: Lethargy Vomiting Loss of appetite Diarrhea - usually bloody, and very foul-smelling (a characteristic odor, particular to Parvovirus infection) Fever

Parvo virus is immunised against when puppy is young it is a prevention not a cure. if your dog has Parvo Virus it will have a very pungent hemorrhagic diarrhoea. Your dog will die without vet involvement and even then the dog can die and growth can be stunted depending on how severe it is.
Look even if your dog had gastro it needs to seen by a doctor who knows what they are doing don't expect this answer room is going to miraculously heal your dog.

In the future yes immunising your dog will prevent such diseases.

How do you know that it's Parvo that your dog has? You should never try to diagnose and treat any illness on your own, that's what veterinarians are for. Let's say your dog is sick, and you think,he/she has a particular illness, and you treat the dog yourself, for what you think,is wrong with it, and your wrong. You can end up killing your dog. Parvo is a very serious and deadly disease, and the vet is the only one who can tell you for sure, whether it's' Parvo or something else. Your only choice, is to take your dog to the vet, if he's that sick, and see what the vet can do for him.

From what I understand there is no cure for Parvo. A dog with this virus that is not treated with intense treatments at the vet can die of dehydration. This is not something to play with. If you believe your pet has this get him to a vet ASAP.

Has your dog been seen by a veterinarian? If not, you should take him to a vet as soon as possible. They can test for parvo, and tell you for sure if your dog Has parvo.

Get your dog to the vet right away. They can run a test to confirm the diagnosis or rule it out.
I have heard only negative things about parvoguard. It is not a substitute for vet care.

Parvo is very serious and your dog needs the vet, it may be the only way to save your dog's life. Please don't delay.

Your dog needs to see a vet NOW!! In my area, Parvoguard is a vaccine, not a treatment. If the dog has parvo now, the vaccine will not help. Even if it does help, your dog may be too far gone before you receive it.

I've heard good things about it but I wouldn't trust it should you ever have to use something again. Parvaid is a much better product from what I hear. I actually found out something about Parvoguard (can't find it now of coarse) about it being listed as a hazardous product or something.

Here's something to give your dog till you receive your product.

Parvo Emergency Tea Recipe
Use this tea if Parvaid is not available or if the need to stabilize
nausea is necessary. If using the tea in addition to Parvaid in hopes
to control nausea remove garlic from the recipe.
Ingredients: (ingredients can be found in most major supermarkets
with pharmacies):
•1 cup Pedialyte OR Oat Water (electrolyte fluid)
•2 tea bags herbal Peppermint with Spearmint tea (A good
source - Bigelow's Mint Medley. If the mixture is not
available find peppermint and spearmint separated – use 1
tea bag of each. If only one is available (ie :Peppermint) use
2 tea bags. DO NOT GET TEA THAT CONTAINS
CAFFEINE.
•2 teabags chamomile tea / DO NOT GET TEA WHICH
CONTAINS CAFFEINE
•2 capsules Echinacea (This can usually be found in the
vitamin section near the pharmacy)
•2 Teaspoons finely chopped garlic. Needs to be fresh
garlic not dry (garlic packaged in a jar sitting in water or
oil is suitable). If your puppy has worms increase the
garlic to 2 tablespoons.

Heat 1 cup of Pedialyte or Oat Water until hot but DO NOT BOIL.
Add 2 tea bags of mint tea, 2 tea bags of chamomile tea, empty 2
capsules of Echinacea, and add 2 Tsp. of fresh garlic.
Stir and let cool for 20 min.
As per the following chart give one dose, wait 15 minutes, give
another dose, then give a dose every hour after that.
Amount of tea to administer:
Animal Weight Tea
•Under 3 lbs give 1 teaspoon
•4-10 lbs. give 2 teaspoons
•11-20 lbs. give 1 tablespoon
•21-30 lbs. give 2 tablespoons
•31-40 lbs. give 3 tablespoons
•41- 50 lbs. give 4 tablespoons
•Add an additional 1-tablespoon to the 4 tablespoons for each
10 lbs of body weight over 50 lbs.
Refrigerate tea recipe. Parvo Emergency Tea Recipe will be good for
3 days refrigerated. The tea is best if given warm. Run the syringe
under warm tap water. One can also put the tea (recommended dose)
in a small glass and place it in a larger bowl containing hot water and
allow the tea to warm up. Do not microwave the tea.
If your puppy is on IV fluid – Over-hydrating can be straining on
the heart. Reduce the IV drip to half the dose and give only half the
amount of tea.
