On the west coast and probably every where else..it is Hospital, Home Health, and the the Nursing Home, altho you will work the hardest in the Nursing Home and may even be in charge of giving meds and of the aides.{ No R.N.s} .Thank you all LVNs for helping me do my job, we made a good team..

Other than the basics, experience, area of the country, prior salary hisry....it depends.....
Hospitals & Home Health tend to pay more, especially if you go thru a staffing service. Nursing homes are more interested in CNA's. LVN's though, at least in CA, are abused b/c the LVN legally can't leave her shift until her replacement arrives, which means overtime.
But, if you go thru the staffing service...they bill up to 3 times higher than the hospital's own hourly rate so don'tlet them tell you "all we can pay is $31/hour," especially when they're billing $75

Ma'am.....if you are worried about making more money, take my advice; Go back to school and get your R.N. license. You will not ever make alot as an LVN. However if you are only in it for the money you may get burned out before you get a chance to see real cash.
If you are determined to stay where you are at then a hospital is your best bet.

In the South here (TN), it would be home health, nursing homes, then hospitals. Coworker LPNs of mine work at the nsg home part-time (we work in a hospital) and they make, on average, $3-6 more an hour at the home.
Every facility will differ though, so just do your research first.

Hospital. You'd also get decent benefits there. Followed by a nursing home, and then home health. (Home care nurses don't make a lot, but you're giving total one on one care.)
