Our constitution won't support a totalitarian state. The closest we ever came was during the Civil War, and in the aftermath, we easily restored democracy, freed every black person on the continent and rebuilt the country.

The "big event" will have to be an invasion from the outside, because we as Americans have an ironclad system.

(By the way, where is the city of "Katrina"?)

You may not have noticed, but Youtube has revealed the politicians for what they are, like when GW Bush said "shxt" behind a covered mic. That means that the politicians are losing their abused power quickly. Like that botched military joke by John Kerry. Right before election, BOOM. He slipped.

They have to be careful, and now they are more uptight than ever because their private statements and "free will" are getting a little too lax.

i believe you are almost totally correct. remember this is capitalism. in the end it is bound to fall apart. in this country is it survival of the richest. the american people clearly have lost control of where are money goes, the protection of it's citizens, the patriot act just OFFICIALLY killed our illusion of freedom. our government is run by a congress full of lobbiests, when you look at what has happened we were commng to this a long time ago. judging from the hipocraisy our country supports with other nations i see this country some day waking up to concentration camps filled with muslims and any one else who happens to be insugnifigant to the powers that be in this country.

What sort of nonsense? I haven't heard any speaker make any such statement. Maybe Hanoi Jane could have said something like that. but she is just a traitor anyway.

There is not going to be a dictatorship in America. You people are loosing it. For Gods sake wake up.

The President can turn us into a dictatorship at any time by declaring Marshall Law so watch out when Hillary has her period, and do not expect any help for Billy Bob

it won't happen. the government won't try to take away the rights of millions of gun wielding americans. our system is set up for balance, and our leadership is stretched between two polar opposites. there is too much that would have to happen internally for americans to be oblivious to the fact.

I hate to say it, but I think we're headed in that direction. And most citizens are letting it happen without realizing it.

I'll say this, I don't think we'll be able to recognize this country in just ten short little years.
