I can't decide for the life of me!
Don't worry about exercize, I can handle it. = ) I am actually getting him to have a pal to go on walks and runs with in the cold, but I also want him to be a companion, IE to snuggle up and all that.

Hi Ter, They are both great dogs. This would be a tough 1 for anybody. If you want a dog that's not real big,and loves to run,and probably be a good snuggle,i would say, go with the Husky. But if you want a little bigger dog,and 1 who likes to be in control,and a good protecter,go with the Malmute. Hope this helps

I bet you'll end up with a 50/50 split on this one! I say go with a Husky though. They are smaller and I think way cooler. I'm so in love with the breed but can't handle the exercise requirements. There's something about those blue eyes, and long warm fur that just makes me want to throw my arms around their neck and melt. Sounds corny I suppose but I love dogs so much and these guys just make me die! Check out the kennel club pages for both and see what you think.

I have 3 huskies and they are very good companions. They aren't good guard dogs though. But they love exercise and cuddling up at night. Huskies are smaller and shed a little less that the malamutes.

I prefer the Mal. The Huskies are prettier, but the Mals have a much better temperament.

The only difference is tails, Mal=Straight tail Husky=Curly I would got for Mal. They are beautiful dogs!

hmmmm thats tough i like them both there is a size differ though 60-70....husky and 80-100.... call some rescues and save a life meet some form both breeds then pick.... the one that fits ya.

HUSKY!!! I had one growing up, she was the most well behaved, obedient, friendliest dog! so smart!!! so much fun!!!! so lovable!!!! I had a very good experience with huskies, I would definently get another one.

lots of food,,,,,, lesss foood,,,,,, two dogs you have chosen vary greatly in size... i dont believe huskie or malamutes fall into the companion category..... they are working breeds .. they like to bark, pulll sleds and run..........obedience training would definitely be in order good luck
