Im currently repainting my AE92, i don't want to sell it because it was my first car and the first 16valve engine released here in the Philippines. After the paint im planning to change the engine, they said that an MR2 engine can fit into it but there are so many generations of these engines that i don't know. One also said that a Levin GTZ engine is perfect with a Supercharger. Im planning to turbo the engine afterwards. Any suggestions? Thanks

well 1st you'll need a front wheel drive motor - unlike the v8 motor the previous guy is advocating. if you are going to stick to toyota engines (which would probably be a good deal - too many mods to get another type to work) i would suggest the 4a-ge silver or black top - they came out of ae's to begin with and therefore should be easy to put in your car - they are light and they make superchargers and aftermarket turbos - it would be the easiest switch

the best import engine for it would be a 911 turbo motor.

the correct answer is some variety of american V8 (theyre foreign there :)). the LS1 is probably around the same weight as the engine coming out, will give monsterous amounts of torque, will be very unique, and if youre not losing anything, why not start with 5.7 liters instead of 3 or less? it just gives you much much more potential for the future. Parts are also prety cheap for them.

with motor alone youd be putting down more power than most of the engines youd be thinking of with turbos on them, and youd have a much better power curve.

just a note: Im not an american car fanboy, i actually dont even like american cars much, but i do know a serious motor when i see one, and chevy's LS series engines are just amazing. a 7 liter V8 that weighs about 70 pounds more than the 2.2L engine in an S2000 is just incredible.

check these two engine out. They can go into car with little mod. The first is the 4AGZE, come from the 1st GEN MR2. The second also from a MR2 but 2nd GEN the turbo version sw20. they both will survive the turbo.
