You have missed the point - why are there no add's on tv to show people how to cross a road and also if the councils didn't clutter the road with junk to slow drivers down maybe congestion wouldn't be a problem,i work for emergency services for 12 years and due to my city being anti car i will leave the nhs just like the others and using public transport is not a option as the cost, times and hygiene of it is so poor the only loser will be the general public when there is no nhs staff left to sort you out when you have walked in front of a bus.

Great question, but I'm afraid the possible answers are not so good. I assume you're referring primarily to ads for cars, which love to show people driving at top speed in less than ideal conditions while putting "professional driver, closed course" in small letters at the bottom of the screen. Unfortunately, ad execs these days believe that the only way to sell a car is to show just how close to the edge it can be driven. In the "old days" car ads focused on safety features, innovative design, and practicality. Apparently no one seems to think those qualities sell cars today.

As for informing idiots on how to cross a road properly, an idiot wouldn't listen anyway.

Strange that you should ask such a question. may be if motorists stopped using the pavement as an extension of the road than pedestrians would be more likely to think that the road was for motor vehicles and bicycles. However until you all stop using the pavement as a car-park and loading bay I will continue to use the road as a path.

What a stupid question! Strange but true...pedestrians actually do have priority over motor vehicles...maybe because they are Humans and not machines. If more car drivers actually walked or tried using cycles to get anywhere, maybe they wouldn't see other people as getting in the way!
