Totally by CASH! Pay as you go is the best way to stay out of debt.

So what I do is I almost always pay with cash except for groceries. When I go to the store I pay with a debit but round off the amount to an even 100 or 200 and use the cash for other things. Then when I look at my statement I should see nothing by hundreds. It's very easy to spot mistakes.

I also go to wheresgeorge.com and enter my bills. It's lots of fun.

I pay cash whenever possible. I get the cash I need out of the bank 2X a month, and use that, it really helps keep me on budget. Checks are a pain in the butt, and fewer and fewer places take them, and credit cards are nothing but trouble. I will use a debit card if necessary.

Cash or credit card. When using credit cards, I use one of the reward cards, and pay it off in full every month.

I despise Debit cards. God help you if there's ever a mistake or fraud, because the money in your account checking account is gone, until the bank is informed and issues a credit. With credit cards, you just dispute the charge after looking at your statement. Your money is never taken, only the banks.

I use my check card, so it's a type of credit card, but it comes directly out of my bank account. My husband and I have a credit card each, but we don't use them, we leave them alone unless it is a dire emergency or when we go on vacation. I prefer to pay for things as I go, hence why I only use the actual credit card for specific things! If I can't pay for it at the time, it's generally a good sign that I don't need it that badly!

I like cash because its not confusing. I know exactly how much money I have by looking in my wallet. And there aren't any loose ends to tie up like balancing a checkbook or making monthly payments.
