Shouldn't you ask the Jews? If you haven't noticed by now, Christianity is based on the New Testament, not the Old. If you want someone to "defend" the things in the Old Testament, ask the Jews. Christians don't "defend" the Old Testament because we believe we aren't under any of it.

Oh, so you're saying that Christians don't believe in Adam and Eve or the ten commandments or how about David and Goliath, King Solomon and Noah's ark? Wow, I'm really glad you cleared that up. But if that's true, then why do so many Christian Bibles contain the Old Testament? For that matter, why do so many Christian churches encourage children to memorize and do Bible drills on the Old Testament as well as the New Testament? I have a feeling that I know more about Christianity than you do.

Christianity is based on both the Old Testament and New Testament. They go hand in hand!!

We are not under the Law of the Old Testament. Christ didn't come to abolish the Law, but to fulfill the Law.

the bible isn't just the new testament, its based on the teachings of the old testament. As much as people like you would like it to be not true, the ten commandments are the basis for Christianity. And Jesus was a Jew, so he taught about Judaism, not Christianity. He never wanted you to look at him as a god.

I'm atheist now, but when I went to church for 10 years I was given a Bible with both the Old and New testament.

When Christians cite creationism, they cite Genesis.

When they site passages agaisnt homosexuality, they cite Genesis (Soddom and Gamorrah) and Leviticus.

If Christians don't believe they are not under any of it, then don't EVER cite it to back up some false claim (Creationism.)

ok fine..... we will just bring up all the immoral verses in the new testament shall we.? also, in case you hadn't noticed many many many many christians DO include the 'OLD testament' into christian dogma.
Also,if you dont mind. Add details and openly confess that the Old testament promotes IMMORAL behaviour. Is full of contradictions and false history. Encourages TERRIBLE ethics. And is NOT the WORD OF GOD and is NOT to be trusted for guidance. Have you the ballz?? UNtill most of you christians take that position OPENLY, we non christians are forced to do the work for you and educate the other christians

Actually your own ignorance doesn't let you see that Christianity is based on both. If it isn't based on the old testament, should I just take a dump on the 10 commandments and start coveting and shaggin with my neighbor's wife? No? Okay, then stop being a hypocrite saying that the old testament doesn't apply.

Jews don't proselytize and try to push their beliefs on others who aren't interested. Christians do.

If you OPEN your Bible and READ it, you'll see that Christianity is based upon BOTH the Old and New Testaments.

Christianity does not require the old testament? That explains a lot. Adam and Eve must be irrelevant then? Which in fact makes Jesus's sacrifice irrelevant.

Oh how wrong you are. It was the early Christian church that adopted, or as I prefer to say ( hijacked), the old testament, and in so doing the Christian church is forever bound to it and the teachings contained in it.
