Religion IS philosophy. Certain philosophies can sometimes be challenged by religious philosophies, and religion may be contradicted by other philosophies as well. It is far too broad a topic to consider "religion and philosophy". On an extremely simplified level, religion answers the questions that science cannot, while philosophy aims to discuss it all. Sometimes it mixes coherently, other times not so much. It's as variable as the answers to this post. Don't ya think?

You get a lot of questions about Religion. As you keep moving towards the truth, you find new questions that you never thought about before. Not all of the questions have been answered by mainstream religion. There are still plenty of things that we do not know. This is not to say that religion isn't needed, it is. By having an open mind, and searching for the answers we seek, we just may find them. Didn't Christ say that "Ask and you shall recieve." This doesn't mean that we should blindly follow a religion, but that we should question it, and find out the answers for ourselves. These two things can surely help eachother.

Peace!
There is some Philosophy in religious thought but I don't think it will be a good mix. Philosophy is reason driven; religion is faith driven. How can you reconcile the two? It would be like mixing oil and water.
