If you are going to Sydney and then north up the coast, Karuah north of Newcastle is a popular fishing holiday spot with a river and the ocean. North of that is Bulahdelah and then there are lots of towns on rivers and on the ocean that are popular fishing spots.

If you are going inland up the Newell Highway, many of the inland rivers have good fishing but you should check local conditions. There are also dams near inland towns with lots of fish but the drought has affected many.

You will need a licence to fish in NSW but this can be bought in Post Offices and most fishing supply shops.

Well between Melbourne and Sunshine coast there is alot of ground......you need to narrow it down a little bit.

The Murray River, the border of Victorian and New South Wales is really good. The main 3 towns that we go to are Mildura, Swan Hill or Echuca/Moama!

Port Stephens area near Newcastle NSW has some good fishing spots, as does Forster which is a bit more north. Both have good camping sites too
