It's childish, and it's not mature.
Sorry if it's not what you want to hear, but it's the truth. If you can't handle the truth, you're not ready to get involved in a relationship anyway.
What benefit would there be to prank calling your crush?? You would annoy him, piss off his parents, and look absolutely ridiculous when he finds out it's you (which he certainly will). Then he will likely tell his friends, "this idiot keeps crank calling me", making you a total laughingstock.
When you are ready to have a real conversation with a person you like, you are ready to get involved.

it's okay....it will also show you how he handles a joke. if you do prank call him, make sure it is a good one. don't do something immature or childish, but something believable, that he'll actually fall for, them punk him and see how he reacts. be ready tho, guys don't like to be embarrassed by a girl, so it may just backfire on you. if you are just doing it to get his attention, there are better ways than prank calling.

A long time relationships based on making one look like a fool, usually are not long term. It is a good test of a sense of humor, hope you have one for when they do it to you.

It is wrong. I can think of a million things that could go wrong, the most important of which could cost someone their life.
But just as important, there is the effect that it would have on your conscience. Do you want to be known as a dishonest person?

yes it is wrong, maybe you should actually go through with the call if your crushing him and get over your fear,...maybe it will give him the sense you are mature enough to handle dating him or whatever you want with him and he'll give you a try

It's childish and immature...but depending on what you are saying, it could be fun...However, it is very annoying and once he finds out it's you, he won't ever like you so it's your call.
