I am thinking of getting a Chevrolet Equinox, either an 06 or 07, either way, no miles on them. My question is for anyone who may know the average amount that a dealer buys this vehicle for? What is a good estimate of what the car dealership paid for this vehicle? IE, how much money do they have tied up in this vehicle?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Invoice price, minus a 3-5 percent holdback. If you dealer is honest and fair they should sell you ANY NEW equinox for INVOICE PRICE. Don't let them fool you they are still making money and you aren't getting ripped off. If they are fair they will show you the invoice, and if you take your time you can figure it out. Invoice price its as big as day on there, but near the bottom you find things like advertisings costs and marketing costs (etc.) and that is the holdback and don't expect the dealer to give that up, however you can try. Thank you for buying an Amercan car and I hope you enjoy it for many years.

Take a look at Edmunds.com for dealer pricing and what other people are paying for your vehicle. Also, Consumerreports.org has strategies in negotiating the best deal and what to look for.

Another thing to consider; while that 06 may have no miles on it, there is no bank that will loan on the full MSRP (Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price) amount for the vehicle because it is already one year old. Check out the nadaguides.com website and punch in the stats. Even with no miles, you will be that the value of the vehicle will be far below the dealers 2006 MSRP price, which is why they offer so many incentives at the end of the model run.

Hit the road!!!

Chevrolet Equinox 2006 with no miles, show room will cost you from 19.000 to 20.000 and a 2007 with no miles will cost you from 21,000 to 22.000, the dealer probably gets these car for about 14,000 to 15,000 they make good profits.
