because the people around me don't seem to get it....they don't get that I have a serious mental issue and it's not something I can just snap out of if I try hard enough

I understand where you are coming from. Unfortunately you cannot make people around you understand what you are going through if they are not willing to open their eyes.
No amount of willpower is going to snap you out of it and if these are people close to you, I think you should take them to see your therapist with you, if you have one. Perhaps hearing from a professional that deals with you and your disorder will help them to better understand you and your needs.
I wish you all the best with this situation, I know how hard it can be.

Well sorry about that , but some people really feel that a person can just snap out of it , if they only would try too. That is not the case, and you know that , an i know that. So you are going to need a professional to tell them to quit telling you to snap out of it, and let them know that it is not something that you can just snap out of, otherwise they are going to keep thinking you can.

It is something you can snap out of people just use that as a crutch. I have all the same problems but I can be normal its just harder but not impossible.
