Because the Iraqui people have no sense of unity still, and are split among sectarian lines, a defense mechanism of the population, as a result of oppression and dictatorial and religious presecutions in that part of the world for decades now by many forces, internal and external. And that is why we have to help that country defend itself as it emerges from decades of been basically and "abused society" (just like an abused child needs help getting oriented into a "normal" life after years of abuse) and into the modern political stable world.

The unity of a nation does NOT come overnight, specially like in a place like Iraq, that for many years people flocked to sects for safety. Like I said think of them as an abuse child, just rescued from years of abuse, which will then take some more years before that child can overcome the past abuse and take charge of his or her life. Same thing here.

And that sectarian fighting is now been FUELED by war instigations of sorrounding countries like Iran and Syria, that do NOT want a secular and peaceful republic next to them in Iraq, and then you can understand why it is been so hard for Iraq to stabilize. Iran and Syria want the mess in Iraq to continue (and not only Iraq, but Lebanon, Palestine, etc) and NOT a nice Iraq, and why is that? Well, because then THEIR own people would go:

.."Hey, way a minute, why can the people of Iraq have elections and live in a nice democratic society and we can't?..."
...which would then spell doom to the powers to be in Iran and Syria!

So, make a mess next door to keep your population distrated to the fact that, for example, in Iran, you are under the control of a facist-like extremist religious morons that treat their women (for example) like second class citizens, etc. And in Syria, where ONE party rule is the laws (Baath party) and NO one else can even challenge that, understand? A "nice" dictatorship!

They way is keep the war going in Iraq, the secterian violence going so they stay in power and their populations attention on Iraq and NOT on their lack of freedom and extremist religious subjugation. And our mission is to help that young emerging society straighten up, get hold of itself, help them fight the foreign-paid military forces (financed by Iran and Syria) that want Iraq out of balance and in violence, and stablish a decent society for its people.

It is the good moral thing to do!...to say the least!

Like even Hillary said this weekend in a campain speech about how to go about when you are been attacked in politics: "you hit them back hard and you put them down". Well, she better listen to her own advice when it comes to not only politics, but also foreign affairs, I mean she wants to be President..(lol)..you DON'T retreat, or "redeploy" (aka retreat), you hit back hard, reinforce yourself and hit hard and put them down..!

simple!

Because they did not choose to join the military, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.
