If by Jan 31st you have not received your W2, call the employer and ask them if they have been sent. If by Feb 15th you have not received it, call the Internal Revenue Service at 1-800-829-1040 and file a W2 complaint. They wil take a report and send you a form that you can use as a subsitute, you will need your last paycheck stub when you call, along with the name, address and phone# of the employer and what dates you worked for them
If you call the IRS right now they will tell you to call back on the 15th.

First of all, you need to wait another 3 weeks. Your W2 needs to be postmarked by Jan 31. Then you have to allow time to receive it.
If you don't have it by mid Feb., call your employer. If you don't get anywhere with them, call the IRS.

Don't call anybody yet, they aren't due until next week.
If you don't get them by around Feb 5 or so, call your employer.

that sucks cause i quit on a bad vibe and worked closely with the owner, i guess it would build character, but i do not want to do that when all i need is my w2 so that i can pay more bills and taxes with that. Capatalism, what a farce

your job has until the end of Jan to mail them out so if they mail them out on the 31 youll get them first week of feb or later depending on when they sent them and how they sent them. if you havn't received your w2 by the end of the second week of Feb talk to your manager or call your HR or payroll department.

you and i are in the same boat, and i am so angry! i hate companies who drag their askes! well, unfortunately we can't do a freakin thing! they have until jan 31 or feb 15 before the irs even does anything about it. so we have to sit back and wait. and if they mail the papers out on the 31st via media mail imagine how long it will take to reach you! them bastards!!!

You may not even need it. If you have your last paystub, it has virtually the same info.
