If it actually happened, I would definitely re-evaluate some of my conclusions regarding the accuracy of the Bible. Whether it would consitute evidence for the existence of God, I don't know. It would depend on exactly what happened, and whether it was verified to be what it was claimed to be.
I'm not being wishy-washy, I'm just trying to be honest. My stance on the existence of God is not carved in stone, if I had real proof, I would believe, but it would have to be proof that god exists, not that the Mark of the Beast exists, you see where the distinction lies? I would be willing to consider and evaluate the evidence, but would not automatically accept it as proof of the whole shebang.

16And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
17And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
18Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.
Revelation 13
What most people fail to see that satan, the father of lies, is not going to openly forcefully make people take the mark of the beast. Ever heard of the rfid system, a chip that they want everone one to take. It does wonders they say. Opens doors without keys, pull up your medical records, blah blah blah. But if they can do so much good with a system like that, it can also be used for evil. It says in the Bible that satan wanted to be like God, and was casted out of heaven. The Bible mentions that satan is the god of this world, because like it or not, people wo are not walking with the LORD, worship satan in their ignorance, or they know they are doing so. Watch what will happen to this world when another so called terrorist attack happens. The mass of people will be so given over to fear that they will do anything to feel protected, and they will do anything the Kingdoms of this world tells them. I am not afraid of what is to come, for my kingdom is not of this world. As it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be in the last days, they ate, they planted, they married wives, and swift and sudden distruction came upon them. We are not promised tomarrow, but we are promised today. Repent, to those who not know Jesus Chist, and have the wisdom from God, and not the wisdom of men.

The creative, poetic, vague language in the bible, like Nostradamus, can be interpreted in so many different ways, that it is easy to find a few hits among the many misses. Astrologists and psychics know this - that their mistakes will quickly be forgotten in light of their rare accuracies. Jean Dixon (famous "psychic" during the 1960's and 1970's) predicted that Spiro Agnew (when he was VP) would save the world. I guess her powers weren't working that day.
Fulfilling prophecies is like playing BINGO - someONE among the hundreds, will always meet the rare criteria. It's even more meaningless when you consider that the prophecies were well-known. Anyone who wanted to be the messiah could make a reasonable run at it.

No. Besides, there isn't even a consensus about what that means. Everyone is claiming something else is the mark of the beast, from tattoos to id cards to mullets. Until the bible is more specific, it can just stay fiction.

It could happen and that out of Billions of animals being born and dying every day, it probably has happend before, and will happen again. This is not proof however, that there is a God. With or without this happening, their could be a God, but I think it is just as likely as me winning the lottery 10 times in a row or more. By the way, I can safely assume this won't happen.

The earliest Biblical texts use 616 which is the Roman Emperor Caligula and later it was changes to 666 which is Nero. The Apocalypse is the Jewish Wars so if you are waiting for the end times - you missed it! Bible is VERY clear! It was to start within a generation (even Christ says this to Herod!) of Christ's death (Which it did), I was to be terrible and bring great suffering (which it did) and it was to usher in a new era as Christ as King of Kings (which it did!). So - it was very good for Christianity (eventually!) but very bad for the Jews....

"the mark of the beast" could be anything you choose to interpret. Being so vague, you can fulfill that prophesy by claiming the jesus fish sign is the mark of the beast. Think about it.

You do know that the "Mark of the Beast" was supposed to be figurative, for what's in your heart and mind, right? It's not literal, it's symbolic.

Sure... and if the Muhammad comes down and meets with me next time I'm at starbucks, I'd reconsider Islam too. Thing is, I don't think either will happen.
