Many believe that the moment of fertilization is when the spirit enters the body. Where it resides or what it does I still don't understand.

NO, there is not a single reason to think that an egg is a person. The one you added to the cake mix wasn't a chicken, was it? No.
An egg is just an egg.
Nor is an embryo a viable human if it cannot live - with or without aid - outside of the womb.
The egg he's referring to being flushed from a woman's body is the one you lose every month that you are not pregnant - it is the CAUSE of the start of your period.
Are people really still that ignorant about the workings of their own bodies?? baffliing. Truly.

An egg is not a person and can never be considered one. Ever heard of a woman's menstrual period?
The fertilized embryo IS a person, and deserves all the dignity and rights of a human being.

The Bible says that if a woman is pregnant and a fight between two men results in the death of her child inside her, it is to be considered murder and be punished accordingly. Having an egg unfertilized would not be considered pregnancy, so a baby must be a baby at the moment of conception as that is when a woman would be considered to be pregnant.

Dude, you seriously need to open a science book!
---
Fertilization: Beginning a new organism
Fertilization is the process whereby two sex cells (gametes) fuse together to create a new individual with genetic potentials derived from both parents. Fertilization accomplishes two separate ends: sex (the combining of genes derived from the two parents) and reproduction (the creation of new organisms). Thus, the first function of fertilization is to transmit genes from parent to offspring, and the second is to initiate in the egg cytoplasm those reactions that permit development to proceed. -- Developmental Biology, 6th Edition

yes... the embryo is fertilized and thus a human being... an egg is unfertalized and therefore just an egg, not a human being. It's really not that difficult to figure out... even my 3 year old knows the difference.

An embryo is the development from fertilization through pregnancy to birth; so if the "flushing" you're referring to is abortion, you bet it's wrong! It's premeditated murder!
Psalm 139
14I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
15My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
16Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.
In God's eyes, He already sees us as a whole person. so yes, MURDER!
