I got a worksheet over my e-mail, but it won't open. I've tried most of the formats (XML, XLSX, etc.). Any help would be appreciated.

It could have been created on a Mac and not have the excel extension needed for the PC. Scan it to be sure it isn't a virus.

Since you are trying various formats it sounds like you received a file without the XLS extension in the name. If that's the case, just rename it with a dot XLS. If that doesn't work contact the author and ask what program and version they used to create the file.

couple of things The excel document might of been created on a newer Excel and not opening due to not backward capability, or the excel document is corrupt. What does message read when you try to open it up ?

open the excel application first then use file -- open, choose the file, then there is an drop down menu beside the open button where you can select repair

can you tell us what happens when you try to open it?
like what error message?
