While *67 will allow you to call another number without displaying your caller id, it will also cause your call to be blocked by phones that do not accept anonymous callers. It also does not keep your number from being recorded by the telco, so if you're using it to prank someone, it can still be recorded and traced.

press *67 then when you hear the tone enter the phone number!
