I was engaged to a great, but really busy guy - I was about fourth priority. He was really awful to be around when stressed out and I fell out of love with him when he wasn't there for me when I really needed him. He now promises that he has changed and that he will do anything to get me back. He says that he's a fool and that he loves me. I've tried to move on but tend to compare other guys to him. They just don't have that "something" that he does. I loved him so much but am afraid to be neglected again. Marriage is a big deal. I don't know if I love him, but is it wrong to try - he offers me a great life, and we share a smilare vision and values. What to do!!!!?

Well, I see that your love is about what you can get from him.

I've always thought that love is what you can give to the other person.

When two are giving to each other then marriage succeeds.

I would say you both should sit down and rationally discuss what your expectations are, what you think love is, and how you will communicate your feelings in a way to guard each other's heart and meet each other's needs.

Love is wanting the highest good for the other person.
Perhaps you should wait to be married and practice in your engagement how to achieve the highest good for each other in your relationship.

Each couple must find their own way.

I would give it another shot. Of coarse not everything will be better but I think that he'll make a great effort to make sure that you don't feel neglected again. I say go for it. You know you want to. I wouldn't get married just yet though. Give it a year or two.

Why buy when you can rent? I'd say go with him again, but hold off on getting married. Move in if you like, but don't do anything legal yet. See if he really has changed.
