As a man i find that it is usually impossible to get a word in edge ways. When women are talking and not including a man in the conversation then there is not usually a point where he can enter as the topics are usually female.

He may just be a bit shy and as he probably doesn't know your friends well, he just stay outside of the conversation. He may also feels uncomfortable with them cause he may be thinking that if he talks to your friends, you may become jealous. Another reason why he doesn't talk, is about the subject of the conversation because you females talk about clothes, makeups etc... all female conversations and it is very hard and difficult for a man to participate in these types of conversation.
Men like to talk on cars, sports, fishing etc.. conversations which you females don't participate in cause you don't like as well.

He's probably just shy. If I'm around a lot of people I don't know well I'm the same. Give him time and once he knows them well he will probably start to improve with his communication skills.

Cut Her some Slack. EVERYBODY handles Situations like these differently- and She's OBVIOUSLY Not the "Cool, Calm, & Collected type- that YOU are ! :) When Her One Subject monologue starts to get "TO You"- just kindly tell Her that you've got to "Go..." (ANYwhere Else !)- & leave Her to her happiness... There's NOT enough joy & happiness in this World as it IS... -You DON'T need to be the "One" to dampen HERS, & reduce it even MORE... :o !

Embarrased about couply stuff, trying to appear cool if his mates . May feel shy and lacking confidence with them but relaxed around you

maybe he's the shy type like me, maybe he doesn't want to say anything to make himself look or feel stupid, or maybe he just dont feel comfortable around them.
