Hello dudes I'm looking around for a good set of 5.1 speakers for my laptop that won't break my pocket (therefore low-mid range preferably). Anyone particularly pleased with theirs?

I would look at liogitech speakers, because they sound great ant they are not heaps expensive. If you are looking for cheaper options look at the 2.1 speakers because you will get the same great bass from the sub as you would the surround speakers and they are heaps cheaper. If they are for your laptop they are more portable. I have 2 sets of logitech X230 2.1 speakers one for my computer, and one for my TV (they are in different rooms) They have great sound for movies and they won't break the bank

I have the logitech ones. They sound impressive for the price. I also heard Boston Acoustic speakers without a bass speaker, and they sounded really good. I guess without the bass speaker, it wouldn't be 5.1 though.

Go with Logitech.

Yes, Dan has it right. Logitech does make a 5.1 systems and some are THX certified. I have a 2.1 system for my computer and it is great.
