If your loved one is saved, then yes you should be happy for them. But just because you are happy that they are in a better place and free from sickness, disease, heartache, etc. doesn't mean that you instantly forget them or that you quit loving them. Grief is a natural process.

HEAVENLY FOR THE NEW HEAVENS AND EARTHLY FOR THE NEW EARTH
Heb.9:27 [ It is appointed unto man once to die, after this the judgement ];
1Cor,15:22-28,53-53 [ Resurrected for new heavens and new earth ];
AS IN ADAM ALL DIE, EVEN SO IN CHRIST SHALL ALL BE MADE ALIVE.
Rev.20:1-6,12,13; No Satan. Heavenly with Jesus at his coming to resurrect the
earthly.
2Cor.5:10; Acts 17:31; 24:15; John 5:22,26-29; Dan.12:2; Isa.26:19;
ALL WILL BE MADE AS NEW AND PERFECT AS BEFORE EDEN.
Isa.65:17
For behold I create New Heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be
remembered, nor come into mind.
Isa.66:1
This saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool:
where is the house ye build for me? and where is the place of my rest.
22 For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain
before me, saith the LORD, So shall your seed and your name remain.
Matt.19:28[Eze.38:12-14 THE 12 TRIBES WILL BE ON THEIR OWN LAND];
2Pet.3:13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens
and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
Rev.21:1 And I saw a new heavens and a new earth: for the first heaven
and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out
of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband, 3 And I heard a
great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with
men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God
himself shall be with them, and be their God.
5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold I make all things new.

Some people are happy when they win large sums of money yet they cry. Does that say that they wish they did not win the money? No. There are all sorts of 'odd' things we humans do. That does not make the Word of God any less effective. We are glad for our loved ones when they go on to be with the Lord. However, we are still human and we miss them. The sorry comes when we are not sure whether they made it or not. May God Bless U.

Yes you cry when someone close to you passed away. But when you think deeper, the crying and grief is actually for oneself than for the deceased. The mourner is no longer able to see and enjoy the presence of his loved one. He feels sorry for himself that he has one person less to love and be loved. He feels this vacuum left by the death of the deceased and he mourns over the memory of things past. For the deceased, yes you are missed but we are glad you are in Heaven. Yes we believe ........

If something were to happen to my husband, I would be happy and have peace knowing that he was in heaven because he had a relationship with Jesus, but it doesn't mean I wouldn't miss him or go through a time of mourning. mourning is a very healthy process and it talked about in scripture
Refer to the beatitudes in Matthew

I can still miss them. I am said when a friend leaves and I know I won't see them for awhile. I cried when friends of mine went to work in India for a few years -- even though it was a very good thing. We cry because of the separation, because of our loss of their presence, their touch, their smile -- not because we want to deny them joy.

Because they are not with me.
Say your best friend finds a better job somewhere else and they go. You'd be happy for them, but you'd still be sad they're leaving. It's kind of the same thing.

I only feel sad because I miss them. Sometimes I may feel sad if I am uncertain whether or not they were a christian. But if someone dies in Christ then I am joyful for them to be in heaven. Sad that I will miss them, but joyful for them.

If a loved one is has received salvation prior to their death I would be glad for them.
Even so when you have to be parted from a loved one for any length of time it is hard and death is the hardest of all since you don't know how long til you are united with your loved ones in heaven.
The hardest thing is to lose a loved one knowing for sure that they haven't received salvation prior to death.

We are happy for them, but it's still painful to lose something you love. Are you saying you don't cry when a loved one dies? It's hard to suddenly have a piece of your life missing.
