my current eye doctor is very good at eyes and showed me what was wrong. He gave me an eye scan with(the giant circle with spirals around it) and it should an island around my left eye. whatever that means. However I'm worried because he sent me to another and didnt give me an prescription. Does anyone understand why? I was really pissed . Lemme know if anyone has encountered this before

It sounds like your doctor tried to explain keratoconus to you and took a topography (map) of the front of your eye. Keratoconus is a problem where the eye actually starts to move towards the shape of being a cone. This can be very slight or more severe and usually causes a problem with vision because of the warping of the cornea. He most likely is sending you to someone who has dealth with a keratoconus patient more, since they are not that common. I am guessing that the person he is sending you to has more experience with this disorder and can help fit you with the right prescription or contact lenses. The contact lens fit can be very challenging since the front of your eye is shaped differently.
If you have any questions (such as the one you posted) you really should make a list of all your concerns and ask your doctor. They should be more than happy to answer them.
