It depends completely upon the laws of your state. If you are an adult in that state you can own a car.
Bottom line... you must be a legal adult to deal with your car. Insurance, repairs, even a simple mechanics order are all contracts and you must be an adult to enter into them legally, not to mention the responsibility if you have an accident.
You prob. need to hang in there for another year.
Besides.. what is the big deal... its cheaper to have it in their name then yours..

yes, you can at least in canada for sure. Our son was 16 got his license and bought his own car. He lived at home and the title was in his name and he had his own insurance.
Well Chevyreis..... some of us do live in canada. don't get your knickers in a knot if you can't handle the fact that there are other countries in the world that YES we do have internet and know how to use it. And we still have the best damn beer and hockey around. Aren't you a little bias thinking that everything is about the US.

I think anyone can own a car. You don't need a license to own a car, someone else could drive for you. It could be an investment. Call your secretary of state.

No, only 18 and older. A 17 year old is a minor. Don't listen to that idiot above me though.
