The ice cubes were poisoned.
The second man drank faster than the other one. The first man took too long drinking his drink and the ice melted. As he finished the rest of his drink, he consumed the poison (unlike the second man who drank the coke quickly and left the ice before it could melt). The first man died the next day because of the poison, but the first man lived.
But...why would they go to a bar if they were just going to drink coke anyway? lol...I liked this riddle though...it was fun!

There is no tricky, the first guy didn't die because the poison is in the ice, not in the coke. in order for poison to work the ice has to be melt down. when the first guy drank the coke, the poison still in the ice, when the second guy drank the coke, the ice has welt into liquid and now the poison in the coke, he not only drank the coke, he also drank the pioson. that's how he die.

The ice cubes had poison in the center. The first guy drank quickly before the ice cube melted. The second guy, satisfied , drank but his ice cube melted and the poison was released.

The 1st one drank it quickly, thus keeping the ice from melting. The 2nd drank slow and his ice melted. There was poison in the middle of the ice cubes.

there could be a million answers:
Diabetes?
One swallowed the ice and choked?
One went to the bathroom and the other didn't and his bladder burst inside of him?
Only one of the cups were poisoned?
the guy woke up in the middle of the night and killed his friend?
The possibilities are endless really
