I think Bush has the right idea. He should have put those extra troops in a long time ago. If America pulls out now , it will let the Arab nations percieve America as weak. This will encourage them to attack you further. Why would they not?
Can you not see how this war is being fought? The Iranians for example are one of the nations trying their hardest to cause Havoc in Iraq and to make Bush seem like an idiot.
If America does not see this war through it WILL become a breeding ground for Al-Queda and other Jihad groups.
An unstable country is the easiest place to do this.
It is unfortunent that many American soldiers have died, however they signed up to be there in the first place. Also the amount that have died(the entire war) does not come close to the Veterans who lost their lives in WW2. So i do not really see what the big fuss is about anyway. How many innocent American civilians will lose their lives the next time terrorists attack?

Bush has done an insanely horrible job in iraq. How do you send troops to war w/ no exit strategy and very poor planning? Furthermore, I don't understand why so many people feel he's doing a piss poor job but they think more troops will make it better. The only thing more troops will do is get more soldiers killed. Granted Saddam was a horrible leader/tyrant but at least the region(not just Iraq) was stable. Since bush decided to invade Iraq, the region has become increasing unstable and unsafe. It's time to cut our losses and go home. Bush is not only going to leave our country in a mess when he leaves office but theirs as well.

Hey, you should read my question. "What's the gain in winning this war?" I posted it around the same time you posted this question.

I don't think we're making a difference. Bush doesn't know what's he doing. He's got his mind set on military presence in an unstable country/ region. The US soldiers are not fighting Iraqi Military, they're fighting two groups struggling for power and control of Iraq. Unfortunately, the two militia groups don't want American presence, so the soldiers are caught in the middle. It's a 3-way battle, but what's our gain in winning? The US pulled out of Vietnam, it can do the same thing in Iraq.

It's not really about whether he is doing a good job or not. By the way, he isn't. However it is about whether or not this war should have taken place or not. On 9-11 we were attacked by terrorists from various countries. None were from Iraq. In response to the attacks of 9-11 we attacked and invade Iraq, who had nothing to do with 9-11 nor were they a threat to the U.S. Imminent or otherwise. Now there are more than 3000 dead U.S. troops. More dead than in the attack of 9-11. And we still do not have justice for those who died on 9-11. We deserve to know why we attacked Iraq. Was it about WMD's. Was it about and evil dictator? What was it about. The friends and families of those who have died deserve to know the truth.

Yes.

It seems that no matter what anyone says, he's not going to give in on the War on Terror, and he's not going to leave Iraq until they're able to take care of themselves.

This goes a long way towards American credibility overseas. When we make a promise, the world needs to know that they can depend on us to keep it.

Democrats don't understand this value because they're so self-absorbed. They would far more prefer we break our promise for our own personal gain. This is just another indication of the moral bankruptcy of democrats and liberals in general. The understanding of how important it is to have integrity and moral values escapes them.

Bush, on the other hand, is paying a high political price for his integrity and seems willing to pay it nonetheless.

I think overall it's been a poor effort. However, I am willing to allow the 3 months or so for this troop surge to produce results before making a final judgment on the entire situation. If it doesn't work soon, we need to cut our losses and rethink our strategy because the Middle East will only get worse without us being there.

Are you amazed about the size of terrorists' forces there? Do you ever think that with that size, how many terror mission they plan for us here? Do you think withdraw now will make our mainland safe? It is the fact that we are facing many terrorist's organization in Iraq. if we lost this war, could we count on our homeland security to guarantee us 100% safe all the time?

I agree with TakeNotic... and everyone else that is for Bush.
I can't write about this subject anymore. I get to upset when people have no clue to what is going on in the world.
