I think that science, art and spiritualism is all the same. There are many things that science can't explain that religion could if scientist would open up to the unseen in some cases. There are a lot of things that science can explain if religion open thier minds. If the two combined Exploration would soar into the unknown without restraint but with regard to human morals. If science and religion were one it would become art. Thats My opinion. Whats yours?

Science involves testable hypotheses and provable facts.
Religion tries to explain everything by saying "God did it".
Religion came about because people wanted answers, but science wasn't advanced enough to answer anything. But now, science can tell you how humans came about, how the universe started, why certain things can fly, why things fall, what shape the earth is, etc. To go with religion would be to give up on trying to find things out.
Religions cannot explain things, they can only put your mind at ease by making you stop thinking.
That's my opinion.

Science does not accept, as fact, what is not supported by evidence, and it will not allow religion to fill in the gaps where things are not understood. If something is not known, scientists admit it, and they don't use something else to explain it away, because what if religion did not explain it? The question would never be solved, because you'd have religious beliefs in there and the search for scientific explanations would stop. Exploration has already done what you describe, without the aid of religion, and art has been influenced by religion throughout history, so I think that what you are suggesting is that science and religion could be compatible, and they can't, because the former is about knowledge, and the latter is about belief.

Well, the whole point to science is to find the answers - with solid evidence. Most religions dont offer solid evidence that can be proven without a doubt. Things that cant be solidly proven are theories. So most religious ideas fall into the science category of theory. Some specific evens have been proven tru and some havent. Spiritualism is just what the word says - spiritual. Its what you believe. Unless you have solid evidence that can be proven without a doubt - to all people - its not science.

Religion is fantasy, and so anything can be 'explained' by religion - because it's made up. Science is fact based on research & experimentation. The two are completely separate. religion was created before science was discovered, in order to explain things that couldn't be explained with the limited technology people had back then.

I think it's a very personal thing. You have a good, objective view on the situation I suppose. But for many it's a different way of seeking answers. Be it through religion, Science, or some lame Q&A site (Just kidding, yahoo) it's all relative. I don't believe in god and there are a lot who don't understand my logic. It's not ignorance, it's just a personal thing.

I like your insight on the subject though, yeah?

I like how science can sometimes provide answers to religion's most difficult questions, such as the concept of "three persons in one God." One only has to consider the three states of water: ice, liquid and gas,but they are all still water. So much for that impenetrable belief. The concept of faith is more difficult for scientists because it requires belief without proof. That's a toughie for scientists.

Too many people don't know what science is or how it works. Science has a place in understanding the truth. But it should not 'open itself up'. Science works the way it is now. It took thousands of years to purge superstition from science. Let's not let it back in.

I think the history of science and the development of the scientific method shows that methodological naturalism came out of a Judeo-Christian metaphysics which sustains empirical investigation. In other words, Vishnu nor atheism predicate physics. They entail some form of anti-realism.

There is no conflict between the Bible a science.
Let there be light = Big Bang

The conflict is in the minds of shallow thinkers who believe what others tell them and don't study both science and religion for themselves.

I think that in time science will be able to disprove all religions. I am pretty sure all religions are just created to define what science can not. As soon as science catches up....humans will realize how insignificant they really are.
