My daughter will be a 3rd generation police officer. I want to give her something that reflects that plus honors her occupation choice. She has already recieved the typical graduation gifts when she got her bachelor's degree.

Make a scrap book of the 3 generations of family members that have served on the force. Include pictures, artcles, copies of awards or comendations. Stuff the family is proud of. Maybe add a few framed photos for her wall or desktop. Make it obvious that your family honors the members who put their lives on the line for their community. If a scrapbook isn't quite what you have in mind. Maybe do the same concept using your pc, transfer paper and the pics and stuff. Transfer to fabric squares and make an heirloom quilt honoring the family police force members.

How about a picture, if not the real badges of the other generations in a shadow box or nice frame. You could add pictures of the family members in uniform. In the middle place her graduation picture. Something that shows her family is proud of her. Congratulations Mom!

Someone gave me a Saint Christopher's medal and an old ticket book discovered in an antique store. Great gifts.

If she doesn't already have one get her a badge case that will hold her badge and ID card.
Third generation deserves a photo of all three generations, and make sure its framed nicely.

haha awesome, well, remember, a cop or not, she's still your daughter with girly needs---a spa certificate and such :P Maybe as a joke, give something that she can enjoy (see above) wrapped with fake handcuffs or something...

though I agree, a cellphone would be very useful...

I think she would enjoy a "girls" day...after huffing and puffing during police academy, she needs a day at the spa and a day of shopping!

Ensure her safety, give her a vest. My soon to be at the time(1970's) aunt would not marry my uncle til he got one.
