Look at the ingredients that you are using and figure out what is giving it the sweet taste, then either get rid of it or cut down the portion that you usually use.

do you mean change the recipe? Or fix a dish that is
already too sweet?

Change the recipe: already answered above.

Fix a dish:

add starch (rice, potato), lemon juice, vinegar, red chille, okra,
salt, black pepper, meat, or bitter spices like turmeric

or

just increase the regular ingredients that are not sweet ones.

Stick a potato in it (you can remove it later). This works for too salty also.
Another way is to add an acidic juice to it (lemon, white dry wine).
But potato works the best.

If a soup or stew is too sweet, add salt. If a main dish or vegetable is too sweet, add a teaspoon of cider vinegar.

Vinegar would balance the sweet flavor........not the potato, that is for too much salt.
