I want to break up with my boyfriend but it's hard because he won't let me go and he threatens to tell me father things that he doesn't know. I think my boyfriend is hiding something and he knows I DO NOT trust him at all and that i NEVER will. He just won't let me go and even when I say I'm leaving him, he says I can't (which I don't even know why he asks if I want to). So, HELP! This is a stupid situation I can't get rid of.

Listen. This is simple. Tell him that you don't want to see him anymore. When he threatens to tell your father tell him good because you already told your father everything- even though you have not :-). Also, tell him that you told your father that he threatened to blackmail you and that your father talked about getting involved and maybe getting the police involved if he didn't leave you alone. Also tell him that your father mentioned something about a restraining order and it would be a shame for him to end up in jail or with something on his record because he won't let you go. If you really want to break up, then you just need to do it. You can play this stupid game of "I'm leaving you now" for years!!! And it will get even more complicated in time, believe me. So if you've already decided to break it, JUST BREAK IT. No more explanations, phone calls, long conversations, fights and other stuff. Just cut it off, disappear and DON'T communicate AT ALL.
