I am not technically constipated b/c I had a bowel movement today, but I feel constipated because I feel full and bloated and like I have not completed a bowel movement, sometimes dull cramping in my stomach. I have also lost a lot of weight, about 6 lbs. in 3 weeks, and I was already underweight to begin with. I am a 23/f. I hardly ever drink water and I don't eat regularly. But I don't drink a lot of milk or eat a lot of cheese and I try to eat vegetables when I do eat. Should I be concerned and/or go to the doctor? I feel like if I drink water it will just make me feel more bloated, and no I am not on my period, and as a matter of fact, I have not had my period for a month and a half now, and my last period lasted only 3 days and didn't have real bleeding except for the last day. What's wrong with me, any ideas? And any suggestions for what to do about feeling bloated, sick and constipated?

If you're having daily bowel movements but you still feel like you haven't completely emptied yourself, then your system may be backed up a bit. Definitely drink more water, it will help move things along. Try to eat more fiber (like in apples, pears, oatmeal) or take a fiber supplement every day.

We are supposed to be having 2-3 bowel movements every day (1 bowel movement for every meal) but most people are lucky if they can manage one. Our digestive systems are all messed up because of the overly processed food we eat, but drinking more water will definitely help. It won't make you feel more bloated, it will bring you relief.

Good luck.

You are having digestive problems and should see a Dr. Part of your problem is that you need to drink 6 to 8 glasses of water a day. It will not make you feel more bloated; it will help clear out the digestive tract and it is also good for your skin.

Well the primary function of the large bowl is to remove water from the stool. The primary function of the small bowel is extraction of nutrients through hydrolysis. So if you are not drinking enough water your stool is going to get harder and harder to pass. Possibly leading to partial bowl movements and not total evacuations. You may be your own worst enemy there.
you should drink at least 6- 8 oz glasses of water in 24 hours generally speaking.
If you are dehydarating yourself that is going to throw out your electrolyte balance, and it does not provide enough hydrogen for hydrolysis of processing food digestion. This is the basic function in metabolism. If your metabolism gets screwed up your period will be all screwed up. Try this do not drink any alcoholic beverages, do not consume any cafiene, and put a dash of lemon in every other glass of ice water for a week, and drinking 6- 8 oz glases per day. Tell me how you feel in a week. Blog me on my 360, Bet you will say you feel different more energy ect.

For some reason the GOV has allowed caffien to be in everything.. keeping the US population on the side of dehydrations... this effects the way we think, feel and percieve things. Alcohol and cafiene are what they call dirhetics. they make you urinate your water and salt from the system. These 2 are the basics of our balance. There are alot more very complex metabolic processes going on, but let this serve for the sake of simplicity.

Contact your local health-care practitioner. Also try a traditional chinese medicine (TCM) practitioner, they tend to look at the body holisitically. TCM has been around for over 3000... it wouldn't have lasted that long if it wasn't effective.
