I would use it to send a child to a private school to get a quality education. A well educated person (one not educated by the government) will be able to succeed in life. And hopefully, that successful adult will do his part in educating others. That $1,000 could be the catalyst to a great future.

Is the only thing anyone can come up with to donate it?

A thousand dollars (American, I'm assuming) sounds like a lot more money than it actually is.

I would use the funds (and my incredible ability to get people to donate things) to have a huge family day in the park, with activities and games and rides and food and awareness booths (get those non-profit organizations involved) and make even more money (plus get the community together in the process, which is also good) so that I could do it all over again. And again and again and again. The money raised would be used to open and run a youth recreation centre where kids can come before and/or after school (for free), or even live if they have nowhere else to go. Out of the centre we could run fundraising organizations and events, to make even more money and run more programs. Maybe even spread out, and open other centres and camps.

That way the money really would go to use, because it would keep growing and keep giving.

I will open a charity foundation call "Oprah Foundation". In this way you get more money and help many. Hire celebrities to raise more money for the needies. Anyway $1000.00 is not alot of money for today's world so I will ask Oprah for at least $100,000.00.

I would go and find out how much it would cost per single person
in a clean, cheap motel and go and find the amount of people living on the streets, that the money would cover and book them into the motel for the night so they could have at least one safe night to sleep and be able to clean themselves up.

I would donate the money to the Humane Society to help take care of the homeless animals. Not all of them asked to be abandoned there it was done because their owners were careless or didnt think everything through before getting them.

i would buy toys and gifts worth of 1.000.00 and give them to orphanages and homeless children. the money might not help everyone, but at least it makes a few kids out there feel cared for.

I didnt know my real family until i was 7, and it was hard at that time, when you felt uncared for. and this girl saw me sitting by my self. i remeber this vividly, and she went up and bought me a doll. i felt so special.

I would donate it to UNICEF. It's an organization that can make a very little go a long way to save children's lives, so $1000 would make a huge difference.

first off, I give of myself, time and money without making a big deal about it. It is a great feeling to do something for others without others knowing it. Makes it more special. I beleive in what goes around comes around so I can do for others quietly.

I would buy five cows and twenty chickens, and donate them to a credible African farmer to support 50 people in a village for a year with milk and eggs.

Give it back to her, since I take it, that Oprah knows much more than me, about social service.
