Well they say if you love someone let them go if it was meant to be they will come back. I think you should ask yourself why you need a break? If it's the other person that wants this break ask them what a break will change? Honestly if you can't work out them problem together a break will not fix things. Just ask yourself what is this break going to change or fix or clear-up? What is the purpose of this break?

Break are big warning signs in a relationship, and they usually lead to break-ups.

Breaks usually signify boredom or thoughts of moving on to someone else. It can also mean the person doesnt want to commit, or cant see themself with this person.

Breaks are rarely 'ok' in a serious relationship. It will definently make things worse in a relationship. Trust will go away as well as the secure feeling couples get with eachother.

It always depends on the people. Like when my last boyfriend and I dated, we took A LOT of breaks. They were more like short-termed break-ups for when we got back together. In the meanwhile, I always dated guys in between, and usually found myself better off with that boyfriend of mine. So, it could do you good, in the way that it opens your eyes to appreciate & realize what it really is you love about your boy, but you know, you don't have to do all that just to figure that out. My situation is complicated, but to answer your question shorter: Taking a break, to me, is pretty worthless. Talking it out is the better answer. When you're married, there's no such thing as taking breaks; it's gonna be "who's sleeping on the couch tonight" ... you know? If you can talk to that person very honestly about your feelings, work with it and find what feelings you have in common together; it'll bring you guys closer together and stronger.

it can both make it worse or better. A break can help you think what you gonna do in your relationship. however if your boyfriend is an insecure type guy, it can become a problem. cause he might think that you want to break up with him. Better tell him the reason why you want to break..

What is a break going to solve? Either you want to be with him or you don't. It's not fair to not be with him, but keep him from seeing other people by saying it's a "break" and not a "break-up".

Probably, being away can cause things to change that you might not know about when you get back together. He could be totally changed or hiding things from you that you'll never know.
