have you seen their casualty count? they
have been paying in blood> Their public
places have been destroyed by bombs so
at some time, cities and buildings will also
need to be replaced. It would be nice if they
would share the cost of all this.

That's a heckofa choice. The American people certainly should not be asked to pay any more for it, and the Iraqi people couldn't if they wanted to.
I don't think another penny should be spent on a unilateral "war" in Iraq. A regional coalition should be established to make a detailed sweep and pick up all the weapons and explosives in Iraq and deport certain kinds of troublemakers. This should probably be done about quarterly. With this kind of containment in place, the Iraqi factions can then set about figuring out some way to live together. If they can't do that, which some people say they are not capable of doing, then unfortunately they need to remain under containment and supervision as long as necessary.
This should be done by a regional multinational peacekeeping force backed up by the UN, which first requires a certain amount of reform.
All of the initial cost of this program should be borne by the American companies that have made the biggest profits on the unjust "war" waged in Iraq by the US government. After those fat cats have paid enough, it should be taken over by international agencies. The Middle Eastern countries have the most to gain from stabilization in the region, and so should share a large part of the cost.

Actually, that was the original plan when we went into Iraq. That is also why people are screaming no blood for oil.
The plan was that we go in there and over take them and use their oil revenue's to pay for their rebuilding which would of course be accomplished with American companies.
However, that plan has not panned out as quickly and as well as some would have hoped and we have been forced to - get this - take large loans from China to pay for our war efforts. Some brains behind this, huh?

No because they did not ask to be invaded by the US. And when the military attacked alledging that the Iraqis had weapons of destruction, and never found any. It would be nice to actually see those weapons that they found almost 3 years after the US government invaded Iraq.
America started this war therfore it should bear the cost of the war.

What are they suppose to use for the money to make the payment with? They are paying, the US lost 3 soldiers today & as a military mom I mourn with their families. The Iraqis had 250-300 killed today. At that rate of loss of life they will pay for years in loss of income & lack of men to have families, it will also speed the end of fighting. Wars have always ended when the losing country's deaths exceed what they are willing to accept.

I think Bush should pay for it. Doesn't he still have alot of money from selling the Texas Rangers? What about all the money he made from oil deals before he attempted to take over the world? Maybe his buddies over at Halliburton should pay for some of it. Just my thoughts...

Sad that Iraq was invaded based upon lies and then their resources are being gobbled up on top of it. I think the oilmen should be honest for once, but that'll never happen. No wonder we're hated.

I think that having Iraq pay the cost is an excellent idea. The money that has been spent in Iraq could have rebuilt New Orleans and the levees that are supposed to protect it. It could also have been a good start on rebuilding the new tower at the site of the WTC in New York. So many good things could have come from it. But Bush won't hear of something good coming from money... it has to go to pay for his war.
Yes, tell Iraq that as long as we are fighting this war for them, they have to pay for it.
