What do you think of him?http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,247998,00.html
Hunter, the former chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, opposes abortion and free trade policies that he says are promoting massive trade deficits and lopsided global relationships. He also has strong opinions on creating tough immigration reforms to tighten up illegal border crossings.
The representative from San Diego County told FOXNews.com that he is being embraced by conservatives who aren't thrilled with the prospects of McCain or former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani as their nominee.
"I think my message uniquely resonates with the American people at this point in history," said Hunter, 59, who is in his 14th term representing California's 52nd District. "We'll see if I can attract a crowd."

dizney - I only know about this one issue w/ Tom and I like his views. However, I am beginning to get the impression that people consider Hunter to be more electable. I'd really like him to not just be an issue candidate but to actually get elected. I still have an open mind, though.

Not just Fox News, ABC weekly and others, apparently. And a couple weeks ago he beat out McCain and others to come in first in a straw poll in Maricopa County, Arizona. http://www.wnct.com/midatlantic/nct/news/State.apx.-content-articles-NCT-2007-01-28-0007.html

I'm trolling for information Sqwirlsgrl, I understand there was a financing/Cunningham tie, but it looks like he was just one of many who got donations (not huge amounts.) I'm trying to find out if there is some reason I shouldn't like this guy. Now that I see his opinion on the fast trade agreements, I like him even better.
