Try a bandaid with polysporin on it. Keep it on all the time for a couple of days to help cushion it and keep you from pushing it in further. The polysporin will keep the skin soft to help it work it's way out and prevent infection. (Consult your doctor if it becomes infected.) Hope it feels better :0)

If it's close to the surface, try putting a bandaid over it for a few days. This will soften the skin and protect it from getting bumped. It may work its way closer to the surface. Then take the bandaid off, and see if you can carefully pick it out with a needle or something similar.

If that doesn't work, let the scratching and digging you did heal (which means another bandaid). Then try painting some rubber cement over the spot, let it dry, and peel it off. Maybe the glass will stick to the rubber cement?

go to your family doc and get it taken out

it is rare but if it finds it's way into a blood vessel it can travel to other part of your body

this happened to my grandpa he had a Sm piece of metal in his hand and did not want to go to the Dr's being a manly man and a couple of weeks later he had chest pain and what do you know the metal had found it's way to his lung and instead of a minor thing that would have taken five Min's he now had to have his lung opened up

grant you that this is very rare but why take the chance

You wait for it to work it's way out. There is no other way.

People are walking around today who have had pieces of shrapnel in their bodies for decades. It works it way to the surface in it's own good time. This really is only a problem if it affects a major organ, nerve or blood vessel as it passes along.

This is the worst part of land mines. Yes, they blow people up, but they also blow all kinds of shrapnel into the victims. If they don't kill outright, if they don't kill in the near future because of the traumatic amputations, the victims spend the rest of their lives pulling bits of shrapnel out of their bodies. This is what some countries allow themselves to do to other human being, to CHILDREN.

Find yourself a surgeon. It can be cut out after your thumb is numbed up.
