"me" has a point but they can get Russian Vodka in Russia. Why not take a gift from your own country? Perhaps something traditional in your own life? It would help them to get to know you a bit better and they would have something unique from your culture, your background.

Being from the US, and an artist, if it were me, I might take a simple piece of American folk art, such as a hand painted bowl or some other example of American craftsmanship.

Your girl is lucky to have such a thoughtful man. I suspect you would make a good impression no matter what you decide to take as a gift.

Gentle thoughts to you, honey, and good luck meeting "the family".

We went thur this with our family, only the country was Holland. They liked stuff from our city/state (Chicago)... some typical tourist stuff. coffee mugs, baseball hats, sweatshirts, also Jelly Bellys, Frango mints. Anything unique to your area. But check with Russian customs to see restrictions on food. They brought us Delft China tea pot and cups, and Christmas ornaments which are made in their city.
