...especially if I get my period around that time and my face tends to break out when I get my period. I want my complexion to be clear and radiant.

1-Drink plenty of water. It is the best skin care product out there.
2-Don't try any lotions or creams you haven't tried before. Ditto for make up. Try on all the make up you intend to wear on the big day and walk around in it for a day to make sure you're not allergic. Ditto for hair spray or other hair products.
3-Keep away from smokers. Smoke is very hard on the skin.
4-Avoid direct sunlight.
5-Depending on how much time you have, you might want to see your gyn about going on the pill. One that reduces your period to just 4 a year. You can go off it after the wedding and you can predict when you are going to get it.
6-Wash your face daily with gentle cleansers and make sure you rinse all of it off. Use a tried and true lotion to keep it from drying out.
7-See a dermatologist who may be able to recommend or even prescribe an acne medication that works on period pimples.
And have a beautiful and blessed day!!!

-Moisturize your skin day & night (w/ an oil free moisturizer)

-washing your face morning & night (w/ a sensitive soap, I use cetaphil)

-Drink more water than usual (don't overdo it since this only helps a little)

-Change your pillow-case every couple of nights (when I had acne I would flip my pillow over after using one side & use the other side. The next night I would change the pillowcase & so on. Using a different side of the pillow every night w/ a clean pillowcase). This helps to keep your face clean at night since you're not lying in dead skin cells or anything dirty to clog your pores.

-Try to stay relaxed, I know as a bride you're probably really stressed out. Stress is your face's worst enemy, besides genetics, & if anything's going to significantly help your face stay clear it's going to be your efforts to relax & get rid of stress. To reduce stress: cuddle w/ a pet, take a short walk, take a power nap (1 hour or so), I always watch movies to releave some stress, lying in bed & listening to music, bubble baths or plain baths.

-If you do end up breaking out anywhere I'd suggest using this Maybelline green coverstick. It counteracts redness, it's cheap, & it works for any skin tone (so you don't have to worry about a concealer turning your face pink or orange).

Other than washing your face with a cleanser that has 2.5% benzoyl peroxide, don't touch your face. Your hands can contaminate your face. Extra oils and bacteria will cause acne.
I also sleep with my hair tied back and change my pillowcase every day. Oils and hair products can clog pores too.
Just keep your face clean and try to take it a little easy (ya right). Some people say that stress can cause acne. I think it is a myth but, hey, maybe you can convince someone to take you to a spa or get a massage to "calm you down". At least you can get a massage out of it!

Make sure u drink plenty of water! Cut out anything greasy. Drink ice tea if you feel like something with a bit of flavour. Get good nights sleep!! Not just 2 days before wedding for all the nights leading up to your big day.
Take all your makeup off before you go to bed.
DO NOT START USING ANY NEW PRODUCTS!! You dont want any outbreaks due to products like Pro Active (Unless you are already using it.) One more thing have a facial and talk to your regular beautician.
hope that helps

congratts X

i have the EXACT same problem! my wedding is in 6 weeks, and when we set the date, my period was coming at the end of the month, but as the year went on, and i am not on any birth control, it sloooooowly migrated to the beginning of the month and my wedding is on the 4th! i always get one big zit at this time! what i am going to do is go to a cosmetics counter like clinique, or even bath & body works, and tell them my situation and get stuff for the next 6 weeks and the best emergency spot stuff i can buy.

i LOVE the idea of going to a derm. right before for the shot of cortizone, but i bet that would cost a ton!

The day of/day before if you've got any stubborn spots go to a dermatologist. They can give you injections (I think it's a cortazone shot, but I'm not sure) that make them dissapear like magic...it's the same thing stars get before a big event. Just ask any they should know what you mean.

Congrats and good luck!

I hear you on the wedding day bit. My wedding is in two weeks and I have started using Clinique's 3 step program. It has been really helpful. The clarifying lotion can be a bit drying so I use the dramatically different moisturizing lotion instead of the gel.

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS!

-See a dermatologist to analyze your skin and skin care habits and give you guidelines and products specified for your skin type.
-Start getting facials once a month
-Use a face mask at home twice a week. (This can be with store bought masks or simple masks you can make at home such as just rubbing a fruit such as strawberries or watermelon on your face and leaving it on for an hour or mixing up a paste of finely ground oats and yogurt and leaving it on your face for 1/2 hour)
-exfoliate twice a week.
-always always always wash your makeup off at night and apply mosiurizer and eye cream no matter how tired you are.
-always wear sunscreen in the morning, no matter how cold or rainy it is outside.
-drinks lots and lots of water and de-caf tea. As much as you possibly can, 2 1/2 - 3 1/2 liters is good to shoot for.
-Try to avoid processed food and eat lots and lots of fresh fruits and vegtables.
-Exersize!
-happiness, love, sex, and laughter all has positive affects on your skin as well!

Hope this works for you!
