Kahlua is a liqueur with about 20% abv ... 40 proof.

Hard Liquor is generally 80 proof and above (40% abv)!

Thus no ... Kahlua IS NOT hard liquor!

Kahlua Especial is 70 proof ... which is very strong ... but would still be considered a mixer and not a hard liquor.

I would consider any alcoholic beverage with a higher proof than wine to be a hard drink. Kahlua qualifies.

No I don't consider it as a hard drink, because of the proof and many of my friends who aren't real drinkers drink it and they are always fine!!
