My 17th soon!! What kind of party to chuck?

I'm looking for something different and exciting... any ideas?

What is your ethnic background? You can look up coming of age customs from other countries, your own heritage or another, maybe not 17 years old exactly, and throw a party the way they would do it in that culture.

You could do a makeover party for the girls or talk to a spa about giving you a deal for having your party there, maybe a flat fee for a couple services for each person. Each service for several girls would be very expensive.

A sleepover with movies all night long. You might be able to get some boys over if the parents all trust you and it was supervised party. You could throw a mattress on the living room floor (out in the open where there is no sneaking off or secret keeping is a trust builder) and pile on it, make sure to have lots of snacks.

CHUCKY CHEESE! I know it is too young, that's what would make it so fun. Or a kiddy theme like Pooh or Dora or Wiggles. It would be silly! Or a costume party with a pinata.

Go on a road trip with several friends and a couple parents to see your fav band.

Dress up very well and go to a fancy restaurant and an opera or musical. The point is to try something NEW and classy and grownup. Maybe even get a limo.

Hire someone to teach something at your house. How to do fancy braids, how to do makeup, how to cook something, how to build something, how to give massages, how to do yoga.

Hire a DJ or a karaoke guy to come work your party, it will be cheaper if it isn't on his busiest nights, or during the day.

You could have your birthday party on Superbowl Sunday and use that as the theme for your party. This is an easy party and lots of guys would show up.

You could take over the gym, the YMCA, the movie theater, the paintball or lazer tag place, the bowling alley, the karaoke place, the zoo, the IMAX theater.

You could do a movie theme party. Costumes like their fav movie character, or pick one movie or theme like horror and come as your fav bad guy, or do a retro thing and watch OLD movies and serve old timey non alcohol drinks...like cokes in the old glass bottles, and old crush. OR shirley temples. whatever.

You could have a group game party with prizes. Team games like pictionary, trivia, scattergories, or a card game tournament like spades or hearts or poker.

You could do any number of themes for dressing up and decorations...rednecks, nerds, rock stars, hippies.

I was 17 once, and a now mother so just remember a few guideliness:
1) always be careful
2) always watch your back, cause you don't know who is going to rat you out
3) the sky is the limit and long as you don't get caught
4) try to stay legal...yea right

I say rent a limo for you and friends and have a night out on the town!! Maybe go out to eat and to a club or just cruise the town in style!!

Go to a dive shop and take a "Discover Scuba" class to try scuba diving for a day without having to get certified.
