Ask yourself , what is it you are afraid of ? If you really like her there shouldn't be a problem. Unless its personal preference, everyone has those little things......

Is this a problem to you, your family, or are you afraid of what society will think? Race should not be an issue. Ever. If it is your family or society, who cares what they think? Just don't start the relationship for the sake of being rebellious, do it because you like, and eventually love, the person.
If it bothers you, you have a big problem to work on there, are you two really that different? Nope. Different skin color is like different eye colors. Would you not date someone because your eyes were blue and theirs were brown? You may prefer certain eye colors, but does that mean you say no to a different one? Nope. And if you do, I'm going to have to call you an extremely shallow person.
The only way to justify such an act would be if you had a traumatic experience and it triggers repulsion when you are around people that look like those that did things to you.
Tackle this barrier of racism or learn tolerance.

Her race shouldn't matter. Approach her with the same respect you would any other chick and she should respond well to you. If you've both never dated outside of your race take things slow and just start by having a simple coversation to gauge her interests to see if you have anything in common and how you can connect even though you have different ethnic backgrounds. People generally are not so different, you'll see.
If you're not too shy just ask her straight-up how she feels dating outside of her race. But you need to defeat your won demons as well if you have any concerns about her being black. Now that is part of her but that doesn't comprise everything she is.

Okay. You sound really racist. Read the book "If you Come Softly" by Jacqueline Woods. It's about this white boy who's in love with this african american girl and you could probably really relate. Just ask her out for goodness sakes!

That shouldn't be a problem...it really, really shouldn't.
I know tons of people that have dated, and even married, outside of their "color". It's the 21st century for Pete's sake.

If you like her, do what you would do with any girl you like...ask her out. She is not a color, she is a person.
